Come to the Writing Center!

What is the Writing Center?

·         The Writing Center is a resource center to help students with their writing projects, including reading comprehension. At the Writing Center, students can:

o        Bring in writing assignments from classes

o        Review grammar and the mechanics of English

o        Develop personal writing, resumes, job and college applications

When is the Writing Center open?

·         The Writing Center is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

What kinds of resources are available at the Writing Center?

·         Tutors are available to help students develop their writing skills.

·         Other resources such as grammar and writing handbooks, computers, and grammar-building software are also available to assist students with their writing.

·         Students can also submit their writing for feedback on-line at www.everettcc.edu/writingcenter. (Please note the turn-around times posted on the on-line submission form.)

There are two ways students can use the Writing Center:

·         Come in on a drop-in basis during the Writing Center’s regular hours. Drop-in assistance is FREE!

·         Register for English 90 for 1-5 credits (typically 2-3 credits if the student registers at the beginning of the quarter). Each credit requires 10 hours of work on any writing project.
