  • Februrary 13, 2008 Just to Let You Know

There was an interesting, yet funny, blog on the W3C Systeam page from last week. http://www.w3.org/[...]/w3c_s_excessive_dtd_traffic -- It seems as they are "crying" out to software developers and browsers, not to search and hit their site using the DOCTYPE DTD ID as a link. You know that: "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd" .. well some software believe it is a link (instead of an ID) and tries to parse the DTD each time a page is hit.

On another note in High Speed Bandwidth, I looked back and found a document from Standford where in a 2004 challenge, were able to hit 0.1 TB/s (As they say.. about 100 GB a sec .. or 1/4 of the World's picture/audio/documents as second). This comes as a combination of in and out bandwidth total. This is a little more dry reading, but for those who are interested: http://www-iepm.slac.stanford.edu/[...]/hiperf.html

  • Februrary 6, 2008 Forum Discussion on XHTML2 and HTML5

We currently have an graded forum discussion on HTML 5 and XHTML 2. You will need to post your comments and requirements on the board by Wednesday, February 13 at the beginning of class. Also, please feel free to comment on others thoughts so we can dig deeper into this discussion.

  • January 29, 2008 Student Intern Position

A member of the American Red Cross Snohomish County Chapter has provided an opportunity as a Student Intern working on their web pages. If you are interested, please contact me.

  • January 27, 2008 Review and Exam #1

Exam #1 will be available this week starting Tuesday, January 29 Wedensday, January 30 at noon. Exam #1 will be an open note and open book exam, but not open friends or internet. The exam will be avialable online in Blackboard and can be opened only once. This means once you open the exam, you must complete it.

We will have review in class on Monday and Tuesday, then Wednesday Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday we will have an open question and answer session in the room  and available for those who want to take the exam in the room.

  • January 24, 2008 Assignment #3 Due Saturday Midnight
